In June 2009 we sent the Transform TV cameras to Ayrshire for the the press conference for the announcement that the Ayrshire Initiatives has changed its name to Aspire2gether.

Lousie Christie made the announcement. Detailing how over the three and half years she has been CEO of Aspire2gether she has seen the team expand its services from housing support to that of looking at the what the community needs and training the community to provide those services. Example of those initiatives being Home Learn Link and Tenant Welcome. Peter Walker went into greater detail about a new service: community friends. Community Friends trains and supports local people to become befrienders to help homeless people move into accommodation and change their lives around. Adam Ingram, Scottish Government minister for children, gave out qualifying certificates to the first intake of befrienders.
